MultCoLib 'We're #2!'

We all know Portlanders love to read, but now there's statistical proof. Multonomah County Library circulated 24.8 million items last year. Only the New York Public Library circulated more! That translates to about 33.4 items per year for every man, woman and child in Multonomah County, the 2013 Public Library Service Statistical Report reports.

Among large library systems (those serving a population of 500,000 or more), Multonomah County Library has the highest rate of use per item (four times the national average!)
